New Meets Old.

Young family, new home, rich Virginia history.

The Home of Kevin & Stephanie Frye
Docented by the Order of the Eastern Star

Built in 2017, the Frye home is on land that used to be a part of the Bicksler Dairy Farm, serving the area when the Washington & Old Dominion trail was still a railroad. This is the second residence the Fryes have owned in Herndon and while there was a strong campaign to move closer to Washington, DC, because of work, they decided to remain in Herndon, a town they have truly grown to love.

There are several things about the area and the house that drew the Fryes to build it, but few more than the 6 x 38-foot porch that spans almost the entire front of the home. There, they have enjoyed many glasses of wine while listening to Friday Night Live right from their front door, laughs with their incredible friends, family and neighbors who know its “open” if the porch lights are on and enjoyed watching all the returning nature even while locked down during the early days of the COVID pandemic.

Inside the home are several pieces of furniture that represent their deep Virginia roots, from dining furniture all handcrafted in Winchester, VA, with wood from the trees that surround the Frye Family Farm in Woodstock, VA which was established in 1750.

Some of the most prized possessions are pieces they have acquired from their travels including a vintage sake bottle from their trip to Japan, handcrafted pieces from Alsace, France, and a hand-drawn caricature after renewing their vows in Central Park, NYC. Nothing displays their love of travel more than the focal point of the main level around the holidays, their tree. Most of the ornaments you will see have been brought back from their travels, no matter how unconventional they may be!
